Development Specialist

The Seneca County Collaborative is accepting applications for a Development Specialist to support countywide economic development and workforce initiatives through Seneca Regional Chamber & Development.

Reporting to the President & CEO and working closely with the Seneca Regional Chamber & Development division lead and the Seneca County Land Bank Executive Director, this position combines project coordination and administrative support with business visits, workforce programs, and partner engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Business Retention & Expansion

Help coordinate and participate in business visits, manage records and follow-up in ExecutivePulse, and keep the President & CEO and division lead informed of business needs and opportunities.

Workforce Programs

Help coordinate the Seneca County Skills Showcase, Student Bootcamps, Seneca County Educators’ Bootcamp, and other programs with the Tiffin City Schools Business Advisory Council, Seneca Wyandot Business Advisory Council, and workforce partners.

Properties & Project Leads

Maintain ZoomProspector and LOIS property listings, gather property and utility information, and coordinate qualifying site submissions and responses to requests for information under the direction of the President & CEO. Work with Regional Growth Partnership, the regional economic development partner, and JobsOhio, the state economic development partner.

Land Bank Support

Assist the Seneca County Land Bank Executive Director with correspondence, scheduling, document preparation, recordkeeping, project tracking, and follow-up.

Incentive Assistance

Help gather documentation, prepare incentive application materials, coordinate submissions with businesses and program partners, and track deadlines and application status.

Organizational Support

Prepare project updates and reports, assist with basic graphics and social media content, and support Collaborative programs, events, and special projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1 to 3 years of experience in administrative support, project coordination, business services, customer service, workforce programming, or related work preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills, with attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn CRM systems and property databases.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, work independently, and collaborate with teammates and partners.
  • Social media familiarity and Canva experience preferred. Economic development or workforce experience is helpful but not required.

Familiarity with Seneca County and an interest in supporting the local business community are valued.

Special Job Requirements

A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and availability for local travel and occasional meetings and events outside standard business hours are required.

The position requires discretion when handling confidential business and project information.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time, in-office position with an annual salary of up to $45,000, based on qualifications and relevant experience.
