Tourism Manager
The Seneca County Collaborative is accepting applications for a Tourism Manager to lead Destination Seneca County and promote the people, places, businesses, and experiences that make Seneca County a great place to visit.
Reporting to the President & CEO, this hands-on position leads countywide tourism promotion, partner engagement, visitor services, digital content, and the Seneca County Welcome Center. The Tourism Manager also works alongside Collaborative division leads to provide graphic design, photography, and content support for their programs and initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Tourism Leadership & Promotion
Lead the day-to-day work of Destination Seneca County, develop tourism promotions and campaigns, and work with partners to identify new visitor experiences and promotional opportunities.
Partner Engagement
Build relationships with lodging providers, restaurants, attractions, retailers, event organizers, local governments, and community partners through regular communication and visits throughout Seneca County.
Digital Content & Design
Manage Destination Seneca County’s website, social media, and event calendar. Create content and graphics using Canva, maintain photography and marketing assets, and develop resources such as the Seneca County Visitors Guide.
Visitor Services
Oversee the Seneca County Welcome Center, assist visitors, and maintain accurate brochures, guides, maps, and other visitor information.
Tourism Board & Reporting
Coordinate quarterly Seneca County Tourism Board meetings and prepare tourism updates, metrics, and supporting information for the President & CEO, boards, and local government partners.
Industry Engagement
Represent Destination Seneca County through the Ohio Travel Association (OTA), Ohio Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (OACVB), and relevant industry meetings and professional development opportunities.
Collaborative Marketing Support
Assist division leads with graphic design, photography, content development, and promotional materials based on their priorities. Support shared Collaborative campaigns, events, announcements, and special projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and experience in tourism, destination marketing, hospitality, marketing, communications, community relations, or related work preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will also be considered.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
- Effective written and verbal communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
- Strong proficiency with Canva and the ability to create professional graphics and promotional materials.
- Strong social media and digital content development skills, with experience managing website content.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn relevant digital platforms.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines and partner requests, and collaborate with teammates and partners.
- Photography experience preferred.
Familiarity with Seneca County and an interest in community storytelling and promoting local businesses and experiences are valued.
Special Job Requirements
A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and availability for regular local travel throughout Seneca County are required.
The position also requires evening and weekend availability for tourism events, community programs, meetings, and other activities outside standard business hours.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, in-person position based in Tiffin, Ohio, with an annual salary of $55,000.
